Irregular bulletin: the gloria issue. Los Angeles: Immaculate Heart College, 1961

“Another important design strategy was her use of cut and paste techniques, which predated punk graphics by more than a decade. In collaboration with Sister Magdalen Mary and ‘industrious students and dedicated professors’, Corita laid out the many pages of the Immaculate Heart Community newsletter, The Irregular Bulletin, as collages of cut-out type and recycled or found images. Headlines are pasted together from newspaper clippings in a ransom note style; typewritten essays are cut up into individual words, phrases and paragraphs and scattered across pages, interconnecting and overlapping with images.”
